Rajiv Gandhi National Ground Water Training & Research Institute (RGI) of Central Ground Water Board conducts training courses for officers and staff of CGWB, Central / State Government organizations, Universities and Institutes etc. RGI imparts training at the induction, mid-career, and senior management levels in all relevant aspects of hydrogeological investigations, exploration, assessment, development and management of ground water and a few courses on administrative matters and management aspects. The faculty is generally drawn from CGWB, premier organizations / institutes and ground water experts in relevant fields. The emphasis during the course remains on field / hands on training so that the trainees get maximum exposure and can handle the problems on their own. So far RGI has conducted 108 training courses and imparted training to more than 2350 personnels in various fields. During 2008-09 RGI proposes to conduct 18 training courses. Some of the courses will be conducted at reputed institutes specialized in their relevant fields.
Course Fee: No fee is charged for any of the course. However, the expenses towards traveling, lodging and boarding have to be borne by the sponsoring organization.
Nomination: The nomination can be made in the registration form duly signed by sponsoring authority. The last date of nomination is 15 days prior to commencement of the course.
Accommodation: Hostel facilities are at present not available with RGI. The courses are generally conducted at State capitals where accommodation is easily available at reasonable rates. However, support is provided for advance booking on request.
Certificate: On successful completion of the training course, Certificate of Participation is awarded to the participants.
