The Central
Ground Water Board, under the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of
India is the National Apex Organization in the realm of groundwater in
the country. It is entrusted with the responsibilities to carry out hydrogeological surveys, exploration, monitoring of ground water
developmentand management, and the regulation of the vast ground
water resources for drinking, irrigation, domestic and industrial needs.
Central Ground Water Board, Kerala Region is one of the 16 Regional
Offices of CGWB in the country. The Kerala Regional Office has
jurisdiction over the State of Kerala and the U.T. of Lakshadweep.
