Under the ongoing Hydrology Project, Central Ground Water Board, South Eastern Coastal Region, Chennai, has established a modern and aesthetically pleasing Computer laboratory with all state-of-the art equipment, machines and other facilities, including a well-equipped Reference Library on computers. The  various facilities available in the RODC are listed below.

IN-HOUSE TRAINING

a) DBMS 4 Batches - 31 Persons
b) MS OFFICE 2 Batches - 21 Persons
c) Internet & E-mail - 7 PERSONS

With a view to enhance the computer literacy level amongst the officers and staff the RODC, has undertaken an ambitious in-house training program, which included two staff members from Central Ground Water Board, Div-IV too.

ACHIEVEMENTS:-

1. A total of 6 batches have been completed.
2. A total of 59 Officers/Staff have been trained in DBMS, MS-OFFICE, Internet & e-mail.
3. A total of 31 Officers/Staff have been trained in DBMS (Batch-I, II, III & V).
4. A total of 21 Officers/Staff have been trained in MS-OFFICE (Batch-IV & VI).
5. A total of 7 officers and staff were trained in Internet & e-mail.
6. Detailed lecture notes have been distributed among the trainees.
7. During the later batches, audio-visual equipment such as Multimedia projector, Projection Screen and Laser Pointer have been fully utilised to the maximum benefit of the trainees.
8. The lectures/training sessions have been made more effective by means of presentations in MS-POWER POINT. This proved to be very effective and was very well received by the trainees.
9. The Regional Director presided over the Inaugural and Concluding functions with his kind words of advice and encouragement.
10. All the 6 batches of computer training were given thorough impetus and every possible encouragement-both in words and actions-by the Officer-in-charge RODC.
11. Concluding day of each batch witnessed lively participation by the trainees in assessing what they benefited and the constraints they faced along with their positive suggestions without which this ambitious training programme could not have achieved what it has.
