REGIONAL OFFICE WATER QUALITY LABORATORY
Under Hydrology Project Central Ground Water Board, South
Eastern Coastal Region, Chennai has established a modern excellent water quality
laboratory with highly sophisticated equipment and instruments.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Analysis
- Method developed for analysis for nitrate and fluoride
using UV-Visible Spectrophotometer and Digital Visible
Spectrophotometer. Analysis of water samples for fluoride and nitrate
being carried out from 1999 onwards for NHS observation wells;
- Partial analysis of water samples Hydrology Project has
been carried out;
- Basic analysis of water samples of Isotope studies has
been carried out;
- Detailed analysis of water samples of Pollution studies
under R&D has been carried out;
- Method developed for analysis water samples for heavy
metals like iron, manganese, zinc, lead, chromium, copper by means of
Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer;
- Analysis of water samples of Pollution studies in
Dindigul district under R&D has been carried out for heavy metals;

- Training imparted to Assistant Engineers & Junior
Engineers of Central Public Works Department in "QUALITY
CONTROL IN CIVIL ENGINEERING WORKS-TESTING OF GROUND WATER FOR
