National Aquifer Mapping (NAQUIM) has been taken up in XII five-year plan by CGWB to carry out detailed hydrogeological investigation on 1:50,000 scale. Soygaon and Sillod talukas located in Aurangabad district. Aurangabad district is a regional head quarter of the Marathwada Region in Maharashtra State. Aquifer mapping studies of the Soygaon and Sillod talukas of Aurangabad district carried out for deciphering Aquifer geometry, Aquifer characteristics, conceptualization of aquifer system, Identification of ground water issues and preparation of ground water management plan.
