Sultanpur district is a district in the Awadh region of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. This
district is a part of Faizabad division (officially Ayodhya division) in Uttar Pradesh state.
Sultanpur district lies between 26° 16' N and 26° 26' N latitude and 82° 04' E and 82° 07' E
longitude. Total geographical area of the district is 267289 ha (2672.89 km2). The seasonal rise in depth to water level varies from 0.07 to 8.15 meters and the fall in water level varies from 0.02 to 2.83 m during 2022. The zones of seasonal rise in water levels are more prominent (0-4 m) in major parts of the district whereas the zones of seasonal fall (0-4 m) in water level are recorded in north-western part of the district mainly in Baldirai blocks.
