Kasganj district situated in the state of Uttar Pradesh covers an area of 1993 sq km. The area lies between Latitude 27° 33’- 28° 02’N and Longitude 78° 28’- 79° 12’E falling in the survey of India Toposheet No. 53L, 54I and 54M. Ground water level behavior during the last 10 years for pre-monsoon and post-monsoon is continuously showing a depleting trend. Long term water level trend (2013-2022) shows fall in water level from 0.013 to 0.583 m/year during Pre-monsoon period and from 0.028 to 0.550 m/year during Post-monsoon period.
