The Bikaner District is located in the north-western part of Rajasthan State at a distance of
about 334 kms to west of Jaipur, the capital of the state and covers total area of 30,247
sq.km. It was named after its founder Rao Bika. It lies between latitudes north latitudes
27°11’ to 29°03’ and east longitudes 71°52’ to 74°15’. It is bounded on the north by
Ganganagar District, on the east by Hanumangarh and Churu Districts, on south byNagaur
and Jodhpur Districts and on the west by Jaisalmer District and International border with
Pakistan.
