Under National Aquifer Mapping and Management Plan (NAQUIM) programme, Central Ground Water Board, CGWB NER has carried out aquifer mapping and management plan in Amguri, Sivsagar and Nazira Blocks, SIvsagar district of Assam. The objective was to stand the aquifer system down to the depth of 200 meters, decipher the aquifer geometry, its characteristics, quantity, quality and formulate a complete sustainable and effective management plan for ground water development in the study area
